Caught in Hong Kong on CX101 on 23 July. Understand that’s not Cathay’s fault. However after 37 hours at the airport it was clear that they had no contingency, communication was non existent and we were wrongly advised our flight had been cancelled, resulting in us being moved on to another flight and having to wait an additional 6 hours. Meanwhile the Qantas flight we were originally booked on took off, despite HK being CP’s home base. All our luggage arrived soaking wet, the books we bought on Gaudi architecture in Spain are wrecked. Cathay disavows any responsibility. A weasel airline that I wont be flying on again
